HetaPasta Part II (Preview)

She wondered around for what seemed to be an eternity. She couldn’t remember much after the fall. She remembered landing on something soft and she fainted on the way down. When she awoke, she knew she was far away from the town and Matthew. She was praying he was okay. She kept walking in order to get her bearings. However, as she walked, she noticed that it was snowing. Then the snow became heavier and heavier, thicker and thicker making it almost impossible to see. She shivered. She couldn’t take the cold much longer. She was starting to wonder if she was even still in the game. It couldn’t be this cold. She was trudged on, fearing that she may fall off a cliff or something that fashion. Soon, she saw something. She couldn’t make out what it was but it was definitely something, rather, someone. She cautiously walked towards the figure. Then she recoiled. It could be anything. The figure in question walked calmly towards her, as though cold meant nothing to him. As he got closer, all she could make out was red and black, a red hat, a red shirt, black hair, black sclera with red pupils…with dark blood staining them. She backed away. She was about to run off, but she realized she didn’t know where she would run to. In fact, if she did run, she would most likely get even more lost. She was terrified. However, the person in question said nothing and extended his hand to her. She stared at his face a little more. She recognized him, yes but her first thoughts were why was he up here? She cautiously took it. His hand was colder than the snow. They said nothing for awhile as he guided her effortlessly through the snow. When he noticed that she was shivering He opened his pack and took out a coat. She was apprehensive but took it.

“Travelers die and leave their things,” he said ominously. She cringed but wasn’t about to let go of the coat, it was far too warm, “Are you okay?”

“I think so,”

“You’re almost down; we have to hurry before Red appears,”

“So you’re really Silver?” he nodded, “Why should I be afraid of Red?”

“He’s been a bit unhinged after he died and came back. He often lures victims to have his fun unhinging until finally devouring them so he could go on,” she gulped. They walked in silence for a little while.

“Do you know how to get to Town?”

“Yes, but you don’t need to go there,”

“R-Really?”

“They’re looking for you and when they find you, you’ll never be able to leave here,”

“But I have to…Matthew is still there! I can’t leave him behind,” he looked at her. His eyes looked sadder but he knew it couldn’t be helped. He went into his pack again and took out three pokeballs.

“Here, once when get down from the mountain, you’re going to need them,”

“O-Okay!”

“When you get to Lavender Town, don’t go into the Tower without earplugs and if you meet S!3v3n, you’ll know him when you see him, he will engage in battle with you. Those three pokemon will help you but you have to be a competent trainer to distract him enough to get out of there. If they get injured, use a potion, do not go to a Pokemon Center at night, if you do, stay in the lobby and have one of the pokemon out,”

“Got it! Thanks Silver!” he nodded as they continued on. She looked around. The snow was starting to disappear, “Hey, Silver,” he looked at her, “I know this is going to sound strange but…how did it feel? How did it feel to be the champion? I mean, you found newer pokemon, more powerful ones, and even beat Red,” Silver chuckled and smiled. The first time she saw him smile.

“I’m not going to lie, it was the greatest feelings in the world. I beat the Elite Four, entered the Hall of Fame, met interesting people, learned and grew along the way. The praise, the fame, it was all so intoxicating, like I was the single most invincible thing in the world. But…it comes with a price. Challengers came and pass but no one beat me. All I knew was that I wanted more. I wanted to battle more, I wanted to be the best but also be challenged. I wouldn’t stop until I was beaten by the best…and that’s why I went to Mount Silver. I wanted to find the infamous Red and battle him with everything I had in order to truly but the best. When I beat him, I was thrilled and that’s when it all went awry. I remember him disappearing and then the snow and…” he looked as though he was about to cry. He looked so sorrowful. She gently rubbed his back.

“Shh…don’t continue, I know the rest,” he looked at her again. She smiled sweetly.

“You’re the first person who as ever asked…after the fact and genuinely wanted to know. Thank you umm…,”

“I’m sorry! I’m __________! And no prob! I’m a huge fan. I remember it took me forever to get an Umbreon and Espeon. Personally I really wanted a Growlithe but I didn’t have someone to trade with!” he listened. That was what he was missing, someone who spoke of pokemon with passion but power or fame, just the love of the game. Soon, they were down the mountain. It was warm so she gave him back his coat, “Thanks again!”

“No thank you,” he passed her another pack, “Take this. If you need any it can be found there. Town is passed Lavender Town, across Mowgli’s Island, and from there go right to the Woods and you’ll be back in Town. Be careful,”

“I will! Thanks for all your help! How can I repay you?” he said nothing and pecked her cheek. She blushed. His lips were cold as ice.

“Just bring me back my Pokemon when you’re done. I’ll miss them,” he said softly in her ear, “Also…visit my grave in Lavender Town. I want to see you again,”

“O-Of course!” she hurried off. He watched her until she was tiny speck in the distance.
